"I would highly recommend this hospital...if you are choosing where to have your baby!" - New Saddleback Memorial Medical Center Review

We just had our son here via cesarean on 4/28/12, and I couldn't have been happier with everyone!
My OB, Dr. Koperek with Orange Coast Women's Medical Group is amazing! He has always been very patient in answering all of my ridiculous questions (and they can get ridiculous, because as moms we tend to panic!) and very comforting. He was all for me attempting a VBAC, but when the time came for a cesarean due to circumstances, he was very reassuring. I have been seeing Dr. Koperek for some time prior to this pregnancy, as he is also my GYN. He is very warm, very knowledgeable, and quite humorous.
Imagine our surprise when checking in for our cesarean; we got this awesome nurse with the same last name as our OB!!?? I asked the nurse why she had my Dr.'s last name, only to find out that our nurse was Dr. Koperek's AMAZING wife Christy Koperek! All I can say about her, is that this is the RN you want! She kept both my husband and I laughing and calm the entire time, right into the delivery room and through delivery.
If I recall correctly, our anesthesiologists name was Dr. Jones. He laid all my concerns to rest about epidurals and the fears that I had about them due to my asthma etc. Again, very comforting!
Upon the birth of our son, and being moved to the recovery floor, we encountered the most amazing nursing staff as well. As much as I adored all the nurses, Kathy (Call ahead and request her...haha) was by far my favorite! This woman was born to nurture!!Our other great nurses included Dawn, Amy & Sandy, who were all so helpful and ready to assist with anything my husband or I needed to make our stay the best and most welcoming.
They do offer nursery service, so at night time, if you are a tired mom in need of a little extra worry free sleep, they will take your bundle right after you feed him/her and bring them right back when you request, which is usually the next feeding time. Trust me; take advantage of this for the first night for two sessions of between feedings. IT WILL MAKE THE WORLD OF DIFFERENCE!
They have a lady that offers a steamed lavender towel ever morning, and while we were there they had some fresh baked chocolate chip cookies come around by some fabulous women. The food service lady was always helpful in helping to choose the meals, and bring snack around, but you are also welcome to go down to the cafeteria, or bring your own food from the outside in. The room offers a lay out chair for daddy to sleep in, and there are plenty of linens and pillows.
I would highly recommend this hospital, and all of the great people above if you are choosing where to have your baby!
